This fall we are hosting our first Veterans Program and couldn’t be more excited to bring this incredible opportunity to Military Veterans, as many magical things can happen when you pair people and Mustangs together in this way. We are needing your help to bridge the gap in expenses for us. To keep this program affordable, we have set the participant fee to $250. The actual cost per participant for us is $1,850. We had many applications and could only choose 6 for this first session…would you consider sponsoring a Veteran?

Clive, as we affectionately call her, is one of our 4-H club trained babies. She is is a confident young girl with a nonchalant attitude towards life. She is a one year old Salt Wells Mustang captured in October 2017.
Clive has a story, one that we try to discern from her healed puncture wounds on her neck and skin tears down to her shoulder. Something that happened at birth? A stallion attack while she was wild on the range as a foal? Whatever happened to this little girl has made her a strong willed fighter with a can-do attitude and the sweetest demeanor we’ve come across yet.
Out of our batch of babies this year for our 4-H club, she was the first one that the kids got the tag off, easily grooming and touching all over on day 1. She loves a good butt scratch, pretty much loads herself into the trailer, doesn’t get startled by much and has great ground manners. She is a special girl to our club, having been through quite a bit in her life before she was even captured. We are now looking for a forever home that will give Clive the life she very much deserves.
We have rolled out new programs this summer and they have been a success, come be a part of the fun!

Updates from the Range
an emergency gather is proposed
Our volunteers have been hard at work administering fertility control treatments to the mares of SWB. Northwest Colorado has been experiencing an extremely hot and dry summer and the lack of moisture has effected many things, for one the forage. The BLM has put in a request for an emergency gather and we are preparing to mobilize to provide support. Not only will we have volunteers there each day to assist the BLM in this bait and trap operation, but we will also be there on the backside to host adoption events and find the horses homes. This takes a tremendous amount of volunteer support, personal resources and expenses from everyone involved. Will you help us?
