Jack came to us as a relinquishment from a home who realized that he was too much horse for them. After gather, Jack was passed up for adoption and went to a TIP trainer for over a year. That TIP trainer adopted Jack out to his next home. Quickly his next home realized that they did not have the facilities or expertise to get through to Jack, who was still a flighty and reactive gelding. At almost 16hh, even his size could be intimidating!
Jack was a classic example of a trainer not pairing the horse up with an adopter that would be well suited for his needs. We are lucky that Jack’s owner reached out to us instead of sending him to an auction, which many exasperated owner do!
Jack certainly will require extra time and care in his rehab, but he is coming out of his shell and turning out to be a vivacious, extroverted horse who learns quickly and enjoys the company of people.
