Lark came to us on a load from the United States Forest Service and the Modoc Corrals for a gentling clinic at the beginning of summer. We thought she may be pregnant based on her belly size, so after the clinic, she went into training with Jennifer Wolf while we kept an eye on her belly. At the same time, on her arrival, we noticed that her suspensory ligaments were quite dropped…thinking this may be related to the pregnancy? Well, after a few months, her belly size not growing any further, we had the vet out to evaluate her condition and it was determined that she very well may not be pregnant afterall and that her suspensory ligaments were quite distressed. Knowing that she would have to be closely monitored and managed for pain and quality of life (as this condition worsens over time), Jennifer offered to adopt her and she will become a permanent part of the Destinacion’s Therapy & Maybells Mission herd. We are so extremely grateful for this perfect situation for Lark and will continue to be here to help support when needed.
