7 year old Mustang Gelding
Congratulations to the Bird Family for your adoption of Leo!
Leo came to us at no fault of his own. Circumstantial changes to the home of his previous owner forced the rehoming of her horses.
Leo originally came to us in Fall 2019 for saddle training and though he was sensitive at first, he is a very quick learner. We took the time to ensure Leo received a solid foundation and today he is a beautiful, balanced horse!
Leo leads well, isn’t afraid of any obstacle, loads in a trailer, clips, ties, and more. He stands quietly for the vet and farrier, and is well behaved on the trail as well as in various arenas. He is bold and easy going and ready for anything!
Leo is definitely more “woah” than “go” and though he is soft and willing, he can prefer the lowest amount of effort possible.
Trail and Obstacle Riders –
When he is faced with new obstacles, he prefers to stop and assess the situation before boldly tackling whatever is asked! He can be ridden all over the trails and isn’t bothered by anything that we’ve found. He crosses water, ditches, hills, etc. on a loose rein! He rides well in a halter as well as a bridle.
Eventing Riders –
He is not a particularly quick horse, but his balance and try could be as asset to any low level eventer. He is correct over jumps and confident over everything we’ve set him to.
Ranch Riders –
He knows cows and has done a little herd work, but has not been roped off. He can carry a rope and isn’t bothered by ropes swinging on him, touching his legs, dragging things, etc. He would make a great ranch prospect.
Leo is a nice, well-rounded horse who has been started correctly. He is quiet and gentle and would make an excellent trail horse. He can sit for a the week and be perfectly quiet when you get him out on the weekend. He would make a great family horse and has been ridden by a kid.
