Project Description
Lexi
3 year old Grade Mare
approx 14.2hh
ADOPTED – Congratulations to Becca and Greg Greenwood for their adoption of Lexi!
Lexi came to us with her Mustang herdmate, Leo, at no fault of her own. Circumstantial changes to the home of her previous owner forced the rehoming of her horses.
Lexi originally came to us in Fall 2019 for saddle training and she quickly became a favorite at GEMS! She is sweet as can be, loves all people, and is the first to meet you at the gate. She is gentle and respectful and lives to please her handlers.
Lexi leads well, isn’t afraid of any obstacle, loads in a trailer, clips, ties, and more. She stands quietly for the vet and farrier, and is well behaved on the trail as well as in various arenas. She is a confident mare and will be great at anything you set her to. She is still young, so her riding experience has been limited to only activities that are not too physically demanding. That said, she is soft and responsive and is ready to go in any direction.
Trail and Obstacle Riders –
She boldly tackles every obstacle on our extreme obstacle course! She can be ridden all over the trails and isn’t bothered by anything that we’ve found. She crosses water, ditches, hills, etc. on a loose rein! She rides well in a halter as well as a bridle.
Eventing Riders –
Though we’ve only played with her over low crossrails and trot poles, she is not afraid of anything and could easily be brought up in the eventing world.
Ranch Riders –
She knows cows and has done a little herd work, but has not been roped off. She can carry a rope and isn’t bothered by ropes swinging on her, touching her legs, dragging things, etc. She would make a great ranch prospect.
Lexi is a beautiful, well-rounded horse who has been started correctly. She will raise and lower to the expectation of the rider and has even had kids ride her! She is a very outgoing horse and though she is quiet and gentle, she has a personality that would prefer to be ridden regularly and given a job!
