Project Description
Shania
12 year old Mustang Mare
15.1hh
ADOPTED – Congratulations to Kelly Layton for her adoption of Shania!
Look no further… Shania is the unicorn you have been searching for! Shania is an incredibly agreeable mare that can go anywhere and do anything. On the trail, she is forward and confident. In the arena, she is focused and supple. She has super smooth gaits and is the type of horse that can sit for weeks and she doesn’t come out fresh or difficult. I have given her the winter off and hopped directly on her in a busy public arena and she was as good as she was 3 months ago. She is a talented horse and though she is agreeable enough to be a kids horse/family horse, we would love to see her excel with a rider that will show her new adventures and enjoy her “go-getter” personality!
Trail and Obstacle Riders –
Without ever seeing our extreme obstacle course before, she tackled every obstacle we pointed her towards… large step ups, the ditch, bridge, teeter-totter, chute, squeeze wagon, hanging noodles, jumps, and more!
Eventing Riders –
She is brave on XC jumps as well as stadium jumps and is forward and brave enough to excel in jumping disciplines.
Dressage Riders –
She is supple through her body and is soft on the straight line as well as the circle. She has nice stretch and knows shoulders in, shoulders out, haunches in, haunches out, trot half pass, correct leads with simple changes. She is working on correcting the canter half pass, flying lead changes, and improving the consistency of contact.
Ranch Riders –
She knows cows and is not scared of them but has never been given a job on cows other than following them. That said, she is brave, soft, and you can put her anywhere you need her. She has roped stationary objects, dragged logs, and you can crack a stock whip on her. She has enough energy to do a job all day, but is not a “hot” horse.
